As iLEAP works toward becoming the standard for the exchange logistics emissions data, it is crucial to ensure interoperability across implementations. To support this goal, we're planning to launch an iLEAP Certification process that will test and officially assert conformance, strengthening the entire ecosystem. This process will be an add-on to the existing SFC Certification, aiming to fully integrate both processes in the long run.
iLEAP Certification will be kickstarted in two phases:
Timeline: The pilot phase will run during Q1, as early as possible.
Participants: The pilot will encompass two participants, running pilot certifications independently.
Coverage: The pilot will test iLEAP implementations, covering all data transactions and data types (see ‣ below).
Limitations: Only SFC Certified tool providers are eligible.
Costs: Certifications during the pilot phase will be free.
The iLEAP team prepared a shortlist of tool providers and contacted them to gauge their interest in participating either in the pilot phase or, if not selected, in the rollout phase (with a significant discount).
The shortlist was developed based on the iLEAP team’s assessment of the maturity of their implementations. However, as the iLEAP Certification pilot was publicly announced during Community Calls, tool providers that were not included in the initial shortlist were given the opportunity to express their interest.
Tool providers in the shortlist received an email requesting expressions of interest. The iLEAP team will prioritize providers who can commit to the earliest date.
Candidates will be notified of their selection status in February 2026.
